Hey everyone! I decided to start this thread for Loyola University Chicago ABSN Spring 2022 cohort since one wasn’t created yet. ( I am thinking the application opens up this coming May or early June ).
Would love to connect with those who’ve applied/been accepted/ currently applying. If you went to Loyola ABSN please feel free to share your experience there. Hope to hear from everyone!

Hi,
I submitted my application for the Spring 2022 Maywood location this past week, and I'm super excited/anxious to hear back ? I initially wanted to submit an application for the fall semester but by the time my science prereq courses appeared on my official transcript, the spaces had filled up, so now I applied for the Spring semester. I have been in contact with an advisor on a monthly basis, and she mentioned the Spring application opened about a week or two ago, so I'm hoping I'm very early ? Loyola is also my top choice and has been for a while!
Anyway, I am from Chicago (grew up in the city my whole life), so if you need any tips on locations in the city for housing, please reach out (I'm not too familiar with areas outside the city)!

My admission advisor send me the application app too like 2 weeks ago and she said it's rolling admission I guess but I am just trying to meet the June 1st deadline I guess that's their priority deadline. Yay ? so happy for you for submitting your application its a relief that you are done with it. Yeah, when I find out the decision they make then I will start looking for houses and apartments but I would love to connect with you if you have social media. ( also I will be looking for a roommate when I move to Chicago so if anyone wants to be roommates just let me know) I am not so familiar with these allnurses.com ? so you can feel free to message me and I will send you mine I will try to message but hopefully it works.

Hey everyone! I submitted my application on 5/31 but my final letter of rec was not received until June 6th so I should know within another week or 2 hopefully! I will post an update when I do.
Feeling hopeful and looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates! ?
Just wanted to come back and update that I got admitted on June 22nd to the Spring 22 cohort! I'm hoping to move there by Fall so I can get acclimated before Winter comes ?

Hi! I just got my acceptance and paid my deposit for this program (Maywood!). To be honest, I’m still in shock that I got in at all. Where is everyone renting their apartments? I heard that whilst Chicago is on the rougher side of things, the area around Loyola isn’t too bad aside from certain parts of Maywood and Oak Park (especially near Austin).

Hi, when did you apply and how long did it take for you to get the decision. I applied kind of late and haven't heard back yet so freaking out!

I actually had a really fast response time(under 2 weeks!), but I understand that’s not the norm from what other people posted from previous cohorts. Even my advisor said it would be ~3 weeks.

Wow, that was very fast! Congratulations! I am still waiting so let's see.

Hello!
I was recently accepted into Loyola's ABSN Spring 2022 program and I could not be more excited. Loyola was my top choice. I will be relocating to the Chicago area from California and would love to hear any/all housing suggestions. I am also open to rooming with fellow nursing students(:

Hi! I applied to the Downers grove campus late but I’m looking to hear back in 1.5 weeks! I’m local to the Downers grove campus (I live in lisle!). I am originally from California, and moved here to pursue pharmacy school. I dropped out not long ago once I realized it was really unfulfilling and I really wanted to be at bedside doing clinical work. :) <3
For people coming out of state, even though it’s an extension of chicago, you will 10/10 need a car to get around! Maywood itself has some rough areas (I did an internship at the VA hospital for a hot minute and it’s not really a place you’d want to just wander around at night tbh). However, some of the surrounding parts can be either really really expensive/ritzy or, also rough. If anyone needs help looking into an area I’d be willing to review it if I know anything!
I’m super excited to hear from them and I’ll pop back in when I do! My Instagram name is the same as my username too. I know some of us are on different campuses but at the end of the day were all on this loyola nursing journey together :)
Randomly logged onto my portal last night because I was paranoid that something was missing. Lo and behold I had an application update, and was admitted! Got my official letter and phone call today too <3 Super excited to start this journey. Hope more people who are admitted to downers grove post!! can't wait to meet you guys :)
