If you ever decide to get into advocacy on this, shoot me a message! I believe strongly in this too! Animals are, arguably, more vulnerable than humans (with the exception of kids and elderly) since they can't communicate their needs.

There are specialty scrub store, and I'm sure they have them no matter what state/where you live. I would check into this before anything else. I've also seen scrubs at walmart. Goodwill always has a section jam packed with (mostly mismatched) scrubs too! You aren't going to find the "buttery" fabric at these options, but you'll find them for way cheaper than a specialty store for sure.
  3. I start my program in about a week! I also worked during my gap year (-ish, more like months). I can't even express how bored I got (worked in dermatology)! I miss being in school ? I'm such a type A person where I like to get a jump start on things.
  4. Following this thread! I just ordered "NCLEX-RN questions & answers made incredibly easy!" since once of my professors put it under her highly recommended on the syllabus. ?
  5. Honestly, when I took A&P, I was not a fan of reading more anatomy outside a textbook. If your resources are mostly just bulk text I would work on creating photos/art/visuals! I also feel like facebook is not the platform that it once was. Instagram is more open. Tik tok is the best since it has an algorithm that helps blow people up and get things to the right audience by hashtags/engagement/people just watching related videos. I run a "successful" (LOL) cat instagram with over 3k followers and a personal tik tok with 700k+ likes. Feel free to ask for help!
  6. Did anyone else register for classes (hybrid) yet? I did last night!! I saw that it was "TBA" on the time for our classes-- Does it mean that there will be a specific time for a zoom meeting or is it entirely self paced? My boss is pressuring me to get the times so I know my schedule for that week, LOL.
  7. Randomly logged onto my portal last night because I was paranoid that something was missing. Lo and behold I had an application update, and was admitted! Got my official letter and phone call today too <3 Super excited to start this journey. Hope more people who are admitted to downers grove post!! can't wait to meet you guys :)
  8. Hi! I applied to the Downers grove campus late but I’m looking to hear back in 1.5 weeks! I’m local to the Downers grove campus (I live in lisle!). I am originally from California, and moved here to pursue pharmacy school. I dropped out not long ago once I realized it was really unfulfilling and I really wanted to be at bedside doing clinical work. :) <3 For people coming out of state, even though it’s an extension of chicago, you will 10/10 need a car to get around! Maywood itself has some rough areas (I did an internship at the VA hospital for a hot minute and it’s not really a place you’d want to just wander around at night tbh). However, some of the surrounding parts can be either really really expensive/ritzy or, also rough. If anyone needs help looking into an area I’d be willing to review it if I know anything! I’m super excited to hear from them and I’ll pop back in when I do! My Instagram name is the same as my username too. I know some of us are on different campuses but at the end of the day were all on this loyola nursing journey together :)
