Anyone applying to the Loyola ABSN program for Fall 2010?
Also, are there any people on here that are in the program or have graduated that can talk about what they like/dislike about the program?
Does anyone know how they factor your GPA? Is it based only on your prerequisite courses? I have great prerequisite course grades. My other ones are okay - no D's or F's. But I have two C's and a handful of B's.
To be honest, I'm not sure. Each school varies. In general, though, prerequisite GPA counts more than overall GPA; however, overall GPA still contributes to admissions criteria. I think the reason prerequisite GPA tends to count more is because the courses relate to the program. Someone may have a high overall GPA for a bachelor in History, whereas someone else may have an average overall GPA in Molecular Cell Biology... so to be fair, one cannot compare both sets of GPA when the level of difficulty is different.

I have a friend who is in the program and she HATES it! It is very disorganized and too much material to cover in the time they give you. Some of the professors only give online lectures, you might as well teach yourself..and for $40K that's ridiculous. Get your RN at a community college for 1/10th of the cost.
