Thanks Ricky and Renee!
Well she actually went through the regular four year BSN program. She did know a couple of the ABSN students though. From seeing what she did for four years, all I can say is be prepared to study, haha. I will say though that she loved it and loved Loyola. They hold their nursing program very high. However, the stress I saw her deal with during the school year was absolutely nothing when compared to the month before taking her NCLEX...I had to watch what I said to her and did during that month for fear of my life haha.
As far as working during this program, I dunno if I'm gunna attempt it. Definitely not full time atleast. Again from what I heard about other students working, alot of them did it on the weekend (but again that was for the regular 4 year program). I could only imagine that weekends would be better used for getting much needed sleep. Any other questions, let me know and I'll ask her right away.

Hey Guys, Just wanted to let you know, in case you don't know already, that I was able to find all of my nurse supplies cheaper on Amazon, than they are at the uniform place....mostly because Amazon has free shipping. I got my shoes, pen lights, steth, bp cuff and bandage scizzors...just need the watch, but I didn't like any of them. Also, I was just at the Target Clinic to get part 2 of my Hep B shot and the NP there turned out to be an ABSN grad from Loyola. She said that she also got a job at LUMC right after graduation, so that's good news. :)

hi! i was accepted in February to loyola's program am going there in the fall as well! i was just wondering where people intend to live? i want to live in chicago, but i'm not sure if this is realistic considering i depend on public transportation. is anyone else living in a neighborhood in chicago? congrats to everyone! -Andi
Hey congrats on your acceptance!I live about 30 mins from maywood so I am in the burbs : )I am wondering about orientation. Does anyone know if we sign up for the transfer student orientation? Or do we just go the 3 days listed in our email?
We just go to the 3 day orientation for ABSN. They will be sending an email with the details once everyone has been accepted. Congrats on getting accepted Andi! Where do you currently live? I wouldn't recommend moving to the city because the campus is all the way in Maywood. I live on the far north side of the city and am going to be looking at one heck of a commute.
Thanks miss Molly- do you know what the official acceptance number is?

@Renee- I called inquiring about that about a week ago, and the admissions office said there are no more spots left, so I'm assuming that they will be starting a waiting list soon. I also talked to Natalie about whether she was going to be starting an FB group so that everyone that is apart of the 2012 cohort could start communicating before the program starts(especially for those who are coming out of state and looking for roommates. I'm coming from Michigan). She said that yes she was, and that it should be set up by the end of this week.
@Renee- You're welcome! There are 60 spots...
