hi everyone,

just wanted to start a thread for those of us that have applied and are anxiously awaiting a decision.

anyone else already apply?

renee

I am more business but IT related. I had my interview with Rush, but waiting on them. I am with you on going the shorter route. I will keep you posted if I hear anything.

I just got my application in also, a few days ago. Now we just have to wait. :) I haven't heard anything about a waitlist yet. Regarding GPAs - my original undergrad GPA wasn't great, something around 2.7. (I went to University of Louisville.) But for my last two years of science prereqs at the City Colleges, I have a 4.0. I'm hoping that pulls me up enough to be a contender.
Ahh...another City College refugee! Congratulations on moving on....that place is the worst. Here are my stats in case you guys are interested: 3.6 GPA (1st undergrad), 3.8 GPA (prereqs)- Worked as an administrative assistant for years and then became a massage therapist about 3.5 years ago. - volunteer at a free clinic. You guys both sound like pretty solid candidates, so you should have no prob.
I'm with you on that. I had all As in my pre reqs from the last few years except A&P I but it was seriously an 89.9 and the teacher was not forgiving for me missing class due to my work travel. Hopefully they can look past the B!:) Did you apply anywhere else? What did you study in undergrad?
In my book, an 89.9 should always be rounded to a 90. You were robbed!

I know! Thanks for the vote of sympathy and confidence! hopefully we will be seeing you at orientation:)

Hi everyone! Here's another question..... When you made your deposit was there a letter of intend forms to fill out? I did my deposit awhile ago but I don't recall seeing this form, however in the to do list it says to fill this out. Is this just done by paying the deposit? Or was there a separate form I might have missed? Thanks,Renee

@Renee- There was a form that came along with your acceptance letter where you would either check in the space where it says that you "plan to attend", or check in the other box. In any case though, whether u sent that form in or not, by you paying your deposit, it automatically takes care of that.

Ah ok...found it- thanks! Sending that in now just in case! Thanks for replying, I would have never looked in the actual physical paper stack- lolSooooo excited! Can't wait to meet you all!

You're welcome, Renee:-)!!! I'm super excited as well, and look forward to meeting everyone too:-)!!!!!!!

Another question....what are you all wearing to orientation? Dress up? Jeans? Walking shoes? I wish I knew what we were doing for the 3 days....walking? Sitting? Not sure...what are you guys thinking?

Hey Everyone!

I'm new to this site, but have for a while kinda been following after google search brought me here when applying. First off, Congrats to everyone who has been accepted thus far!! I recently sent in my deposit and intent to enroll form, so I'm also getting anxious...you all seem like a great group of people, and I can't wait to work with you all throughout this process. I believe some one asked a while back about Loyola taking recent grads after completing nursing school. I know for a fact that they do. I did my undergraduate at Loyola (Biology, graduated in May 2011) and I know of many nursing students (my g/f was a nursing student there as well) who are currently working in several areas at Loyola Medical Center. I know that the regular BSN pass rate dropped a little last year (from what I hear for the first time in a while) but they keep quiet about it. I have seen some of the BSN students and the ABSN students around campus - It dont by any means look easy, but successful completion is, without a doubt, possible. Anyways, hopefully I get to meet all of you within the next couple months!

-Michael

oh yay! nice to meet another fellow student! thanks for answering the new grad hire question. i was wondering and hoping. your girlfriend went through this program already? does she have any tips/advice for us newbies on how to survive- i mean succeed? : )

thanks!

renee

Welcome and congrats on getting in! And yes, any advice would be appreciated.

I had a question for everyone who is going into the program this fall or who is already in it, do you plan on working? I know they don't recommend it and I'm sure working full-time is out of the question, but do you guys think part-time is possible?
