hi everyone,

just wanted to start a thread for those of us that have applied and are anxiously awaiting a decision.

anyone else already apply?

renee

I did! All of my app materials were received as of last Monday. Now it's just time to wait. When did you send your app?

Hello! Yes, I actually have already applied and been accepted.... I applied on Feb 22nd, and got my acceptance letter a week ago( it took them roughly two weeks to make a decision). With Loyola having rolling admissions, I don't think it will take long for you to get a decision.

Congrats on being accepted! I hope that I hear back that quickly. The only thing about my app that concerns me is that I am trying to sub a Biochem class for the Org Chem requirement. I hope that they'll be okay with that. Fingers crossed!

Thank you:-)!!! I really don't think that your biochemistry class will be a problem... I'm taking a class entitled "Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry/ Biochemistry" for the Organic Chemistry requirement(the one requirement that I didn't have at the time of applying), and I asked Natalie Bachtell(the advising assistant) if it would be ok, and she just asked me to email her a copy of the course description. After seeing the description, she said that it was ok, as long as it had the lab component. I suggest that you give her a call, and see what she says about your class.

Congrats on being accepted already!I still have some pre reqs out... Taking 2 now and just registered for the 3rd over the summer. I bet this is going to slow or delay any letters (accepted or deny). I know it said on the website that outstanding pre reqs were ok so long as you have them completed at time of entry but I wonder- are they accepting those that have all their courses completed already?I also wonder- for those of you that have outstanding pre reqs- did you show proof of registration? After I submitted my worksheet I was never asked to submit anything and I'm just wondering if they need this.Renee

CONGRATS on being accepted! Has anyone else heard back from them yet?? I have not submitted all my application materials, but will definitely submit them ASAP! I thought they would not send admission decisions until after the May 1st deadline?

Did you have all the pre-requisite classes done? I have all of them except Organic Chemistry, which I will take during the summer as well as A&P II and Microbiology, I am taking both of those now.

@ Renee- Thank you, Renee:-)!!! Nope, you don't have to have all of your prerequisites complete in order to get a decision regarding your acceptance or denial. As long as you have most of your prerequisites complete, they review your application as soon as your file has all of its necessary components(meaning they have received your application, statement of purpose, transcripts, resume, reccomendation letters, and prerequisite form). Also, no you do not have to show proof of registration. Just make sure to list all the classes you have already taken, and all the classes you plan to take in the future(and where u plan to take them) on the prerequisite form. When final grades come in for the classes you still have to take, send them the updated transcript.

@RickyLatino87- Thank you, Ricky:-)!!! Since Loyola has rolling admissions(which means that they review applications as they come in, even if you send it way before the deadline.), they start sending decisions even before the deadline. As far as the prerequisites, I had all of them done except Organic Chemistry. Taking that one class in the Spring.

Thanks for the info! So are you attending Loyola or did you apply to other schools? Also, do they give you a deadline to notify them of your intent to enroll? If so, how long did they give you?

You're very welcome:-). I applied to two other schools(University of Rochester(in New York), and University of Texas-Houston(Health Science Center)). I got accepted to the University of Rochester, and still awaiting a response from the other school(just recently applied). Not sure which one I'm attending yet. As far as the deadline to respond, you have up until May 1st to pay the fee that holds your spot, but there is no guarantee that the spot will be there due to the rolling admissions process. The spot could be taken by then( the class has 60 total spots).
