I'm kinda in that position but opposite. I have As in my sciences and Bs in the other crap. My overall is barely a 3.05 because of my previous engineering major.
What you need to do is do really good on the TEAS. Like get a 90% in all areas. Then you need to start volunteering or something.
That or get out of CA or apply to waitlist schools...
Apply to cal states, if my summer grade is an A apply to BSN programs
I want a BSN
If I absolutely had to, apply to ADN programs (most likely) then do an rn-bsn
I'm studying for the TEAS now. I'm look for a CNA job too. Anyone hiring?
So I mean, the As in science do help
Out of state? I don't know
You could also look at private schools, which are extremely expensive, but may accept a lower GPA. Also, I would suggest looking into ADN programs and doing an RN-BSN bridge. I have a solid GPA, but I will apply to a couple ADN programs just in case. Since you work at a nursing home, you might wanna get some recommendation letters going to schools that will accept them.
For out of state, you should look at schools that you might be interested in & contact them to explain your situation.
dia1010usa, did you figure anything out? Im kind of in the same boat you were in. My overall gpa is low also though at a 2.17. My science courses are C's and I still have micro left to take but Im actually thinking I wont get into any RN program so Im thinking of doing the LVN program first.
Those are minimal requirements for a ADN at a community college. Just join up the lottery, as long as you have the minimum qualifications its just luck from there and then do a bridge program for your BSN later. Most BSN programs are based off highest pt system and by merrit (grades, language, extracurricular) vs community college is a lottery and luck of the draw. Doesn't sounds like you're really researching CA schools very thoroughly.

Please help me what should i do.
Low GPA in science pre-reqs, B,C,C and one more physiology class to go but got mostly all A's in other non science classes. Over all GPA is 3.3 and I know it is very low.
What should I do in this case? I know it might be hard to get into CA schools of nursing. Is it possible to go out of state or maybe to get into LVN prog?
Anyone else in same situation?
Private schools, worth it?
Any help will be appreciated!
