I'm an LVN & I'm currently on probation with the Nuring Boards. I did a drop on Monday last week. I received a call on Wednesday afternoon/evening from the collection site where my urine was collected(not the actual lab where they evaluate my urine for drugs/alcohol) they were telling me that the company where they shipped my urine to lost my urine sample & so they called them to notify them of this. They said that lost it because the "specimen spilled out." And to come back and retest. What do I do about this situation? I haven't heard back from my probation monitor & I'm only tested 3 times a month & this was my last testing this month (said so by my probation officer when I started this) I'm confused. Do I notify the place that evaluates my urine?? Or do I go back & just retest?? What happens if I don't go back??

If you are under contract and don't return to give another specimen, it's non-compliance. Don't draw attention to yourself by not returning, it will bring trouble down on you and cast suspicion.
I'm going to go today & test. I wasn't given a specific time to retest, is it ok if I go back today? Would they be upset I waited so long?

You should call your case manager with the monitoring agency and give then the COC # for your drop. Do not delay. If you are not keeping your copy of the coc start doing it. I kept all mine in a binder in order by date and year. It served me well a couple of times.

When something has happened that was the fault of the lab, they haven't charged for the service. So that should help... It's just an annoyance, but do drop again if they ask you to. It's probably a part of your agreement that you be available to drop anytime anyway.
