Lost about a nursing career path!!!HELP

Published

Hi All,

I am a registered nurse that recently graduated in May. I love nursing and I know that nursing is my calling however, I am not really sure what area of nursing I would like to pursue. Starting out I worked on a medical surgical floor for only two weeks because it was not something that I enjoyed doing. I now work at a dialysis center as a Charge Nurse and although I like it better than the hospital, it is still not what I want to do. I wanted to know if you could give me some advice as to some career options that are avaliable? I love the patients but I think I would really love to work behind the scenes. Thanks!

try dermatology or plastic cases on a unit or with a md (office). the pace is different and you have closer communication with the pt. just a thought.... and "been there". good hunting.

What field are you now working in? How long did it take you to find what you like in nursing? I feel that I need to move on from dialysis because it is not something that I can see myself doing for a long period of time or even making a career out of it. Dermatology actually crossed my mind as well as home health, but I don't know how much experience you need to do home health.

hello Chill598. I think you should try to work as a nurse administrator. try to google on it.
