Los Medanos for Fall 2011?

Published

Hello all, is anybody applying to Los Medanos CC for fall 2011. I just sent in my application with my fingers crossed:up:

Hi everyone,

I received a phone call earlier from LMC's Nursing department this morning, and I just picked up my Nursing admission packet. There is so MUCH to do @_@. I can't believe I still got in the program. I sent my TEAS transcript last Monday, but they never called back, so I pretty much gave up hope by then >_

I have ordered the kit already, but I don't know where to go for the uniform and the patches and all the other things. Where do I go for those?

the uniform is at scrubs, etc, and all you need to do is tell them you are an LMC student. they are located at:

3694 Delta Fair Blvd

Antioch CA 94509

they sell the patches, as well. we don't start clinicals until week 4 or 5, so i wouldn't bother placing that at the top of your list if you don't have all of the health requirements complete yet. once that is complete, any other thing you may need to know or buy will be explained in.......8 days!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh! lol

Chainer....CONGRATULATIONS. NBB2013 looks like she covered it all. You have a lot to do in a short time period. I am sure they will give you extra time to get all. The immunizations. Do your modules ASAP....you need to bring your certificates to class on the 12th..

We have a Facebook page for the class. Look up Los Medanos RN Class of 2013.

The closer it gets the more terrified I get:chair: I went to get my uniform today, they had to order my patches. These are some of the heaviest, biggest textbooks I have ever seen:eek::eek:

That's for sure!

Well, the last real weekend to relax...for the next two years! The countdown has begun:lol2:

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how long the immunizations or titers took to finish for you all. I immediately made appointments last Thursday, as soon as I got my Nursing admission packet, but the clinic scheduled me for Wednesday. I am worried that there will not be sufficient time to get everything done before clinical sessions begin, specially the Hep B series vaccine.

I got my titers back within 24 hours. Any immunizations you do need, in most instances, can all be given at the same time. The two step TB is pretty quick. (or a negative Chest X-ray) And I am sure if you show proof that you received your first Hep B or Twinrix, they will just want you to provide proof of that and followed up with proof of the completed series. I would imagine the program will give you time, especially since you just got the info so late. It is my understanding we do not start hospital clinicals for about 4 weeks, that is plenty of time. I would not stress. Also, if you got your appointment for the mask fitting on Tuesday, you can always ask the nursing department then.

:D

I see, thank you very much for the info. I have been stressing over not being able to finish the immunizations in time >__

awesome! sounds like you are doing good time-wise. I would definitely ask the nursing dept, though, for a deadline, just to calm your nerves or discuss potential issues that you may foresee...

i am moving back to the bay area tomorrow...it's hard to believe the week has finally come!
