Los Medanos College (LMC) ADN - Fall 2024

Published

I am posting this for the students applying to LMC's Nursing program that starts in Fall of 2024. This is for everyone to meet, congregate, post statistics, and help one another in the application process.

The application opened on 1/3/24 and is set to close 2/2/24.

Good Luck Everyone!

Hey everyone!

I applied on Jan. 25th and am still waiting to hear back. I applied with 55 points I believe and I'm currently studying for the TEAS 7. I got a 76 the first time so I'm trying to increase my score. I probably won't take it until I hear back from LMC towards June.

Sending everyone good vibes and hoping for the best!

Hi Leslie! Did you ever retake the TEAS? If so what did you get on the 2nd try? Thank you so much!

Hey! I did retake it. If I remember correctly I got an 80% the second time around.

Do you know what the range for total points were in your cohort? I'm using this information to see if I need to retake my TEAS. Thank you for being so helpful!

@syantel there's no specific definitive range, rather it depends on the application pool and what their scores are. I am in this cohort and you really want to maximize your phase 1 score as moving to phase  2 is based solely on the top scores of phase 1. The scores are not shared or discussed within our cohort much, from this who have had open conversations about it I think there may be one 45 phase one score with the rest being 50 and above and majority 55 and above. Plus the better you have for phase 1, there's less pressure for the TEAS

I did hear there is discussion, not a decision, to start only taking those with a phase one of 55 or higher. Like many nursing schools, there is more self teaching than teaching and it takes a strong self starter to do well.

If you make it to phase two then they add your TEAS score to the phase 1 score and offer the top 32 scores a place. I had a 55 phase 1 and studied 2 1/2 months for the TEAS to maximize my TEAS and I'm glad I did because there were definitely people with higher phase 1 points than me.

I hope this helps

Oh wow! Thank you for all the information. If you don't mind me asking, what was your scores for the TEAS and did you retake?

I only took the TEAS once. 97.7. This score is definitely not needed. It seems anything above 85 is good

Hi everyone! I am currently waiting to hear back from LMC regarding Phase 2 candidates for Fall 2025. I was wondering if anyone from the 2024 cohort was willing to share more information about what their Phase 1 and TEAS scores were. I am debating whether I should retake the TEAS to maximize my chances. Thank you in advance to anyone who wants to share!

I got in last year with 55 points and a 84% on the TEAS.

I was selected into phase 2 but dropped myself out since I received admission from Chabot. Chabot was my 1st choice. Anyways I later received admission from Merritt college, santa rosa, and hartnell college. Goodluck all applicants 🙏🙏🤞

Thank you everyone for your replies! I had another question regarding retaking the TEAS for those who have not exceeded 2 attempts.

In the Phase 2 notification email, it was stated that if I had already taken the TEAS, I must submit my score by June 9 (but that was if you were not looking to do a 2nd attempt at the test).

If I plan to take my 2nd attempt at the TEAS test on the given date of June 10, should I also send my 1st attempt score by June 9? Or would I have to wait until my 2nd attempt has been graded to send the best score out of my two attempts?

I looked again through the Applicant Handbook, and it states, "Do not take the test repeatedly. Only the scores from the first two attempts of the ATI TEAS Version VII, regardless of where or when it is taken, are considered for eligibility. The highest score out of the two attempts is used in Phase II."

I may have read between the lines in the email, but if anyone has an answer or experience with retaking the TEAS and how score submission works and would like to share, that would be appreciated!

Hi everyone, I wanted to update on the question I previously had. I finally got an answer, but if you still want to share your experience, please feel free.
