Has anyone applied ? I'm taking the teas exam this friday i am so nervous !
today i got an invitation to take it at pierce.
LGnurse, this totally sucks, I also got an email yesterday from Glendale telling me the same thing. At least with them there is another lottery for the spots that don't get filled so maybe my luck will be better. As far Pierce I don't have a clue what the lottery number means and how they fill the spots that don't get filled. I still have two schools to hear from so I'm feeling like La valley is going to be the one for me, I'm claiming it and I'm owning it:) :)

I'm hoping county will accept me since they go based off of points and I have a great GPA. At this point the lottery system hasn't been in my favor. I'm not giving up yet. We have to be positive we'll get in somewhere!!
Hey guys I'm trying to stay positive with this whole lottery thing with pierce. I know some of you have applied to other schools in LA County. I have never heard of LA valley college or any other nursing schools? what are your thoughts about that school or other schools since I live here in Ventura County. Just trying to explore other options with different nursing schools? Just trying to get into a program.
blk5flp, if you look up all the LA sister schools including pierce, valley, elac, lattc, etc you should apply to all of them so far I have applied to 4 of the 8 and I'm still waiting to here from lavalley....I don't know much about the schools but from what I hear La Valley has a really good program....Lattc has a waitlist so the lottery isn't a factor and it's a 1-2semester wait so you should look into them....I too am trying to stay positive about pierce and Glendale since both I wasn't selected but I do know a lot of people don't always accept the offer so spots will open up :)
Thanks Demetria...I just try and to apply to all of the sister schools for nursing in LA county. It just sucks that I am going to have to drive a little further than I wanted to. But hey for only 2 years I'm going to have to do what I have to do! It will be all worth it in the end.
Also Im still confused with this whole lottery thing with schools that have them. Doesn't anyone know who it exactly works???

I know how you feel. I remember when I started my pre reqs a couple of years ago they were accepting about 40 students. I'm not sure what happened. I was #146 for this spring 2017 semester and obviously didnt get in. I was #117 for this fall 2017 semester and I know I'm not getting in. It's very frustrating especially for someone like myself who has a high GPA and worked my butt off for my grades. Good luck to you. Don't give up!!
