I'm applying for LA Harbor's program next month, I was wondering if there's any other applicants/students/grads out there. It looks pretty good that I'll get in, and there's no waiting list, so I could be in nursing classes by September!

How do you know there is not wait for the harbor college program? I remember last year they said there was quite a wait list.

I was talking to one of the counselors last week. She said that after you take the TEAS, they do a lottery and whoever gets in, gets in, and whoever doesn't has to re-apply. She said that there is no special preference over how many times you've applied, although if they notice your name after about 3-4 semesters they'll probably let you in b/c they feel bad. That's a little disconcerting, but I'm just hoping that everyone else will do really bad on the TEAS and I'll get in. =) Not really, I just want to start NS SOOO BAD!!!

I see...... I'm on various waitlists in so cal as it is and really hoping I get an acceptance letter for the fall of 08. If I dont hear anything by march I'm going to just move to Denver and get into a program there that has no waitlist.

which waitlists are you on? I've been looking into the LA County Nursing School, it doesn't look like there's any wierd pre-reqs, so I may as well apply there too. I'm applying at LA Harbor and El Camino, if I don't get into LA Harbor I might just wait for ECC since they have the night program which would let me keep my job.

Has anyone gone to harbor with the advanced standing for the LVN. How does the waiting for getting into the 2nd year stack up. Is it longer? Do you have to wait to be accepted before you can do the transition courses. I haven't finished my LVN yet but I am eager to line up my next step.
