Hi everyone!
I am making this forum because I don't see there is a forum already been made yet. Please feel free to comment on anything related to the application process so we can all stay updated. Good luck to everyone applying! (;
Hi, I’m curious to know how the admissions process works. The LAHC website says admissions are 50 percent selection points, 50 percent lottery. Does that mean they put everyone who meets a certain selection point threshold into a lottery? Or that they admit half the cohort purely based on selection points and the other half based on lottery selection?

Just from my understanding, the top 20 with the highest score (including their ATI TEAS) will have priority for the first 20 seats. Now, if you don't get into the top 20 and let's just say 100 people were pretty much very eligible after ATI TEAS, the 80 people will now go into a lottery for the last 20 seats. LAHC only opens 40 seats every semester.
Now, please read this with a grain of salt. Because there was a document somewhere in their website that says, "IF the eligible candidates exceed the vacancies, after receiving the ATI TEAS, they will then go into a second random lottery."
Then, the slide #75 from the nursing session showed the 50-50 box for admission.
This is a very ironic and confusing situation. But, the best case scenario would be the box from the nursing info. Because that gives the top 20 people the best chance to get in. The second option is unfair, especially, for those who did everything right but would still rely on luck.
I'm believe they are following the 50-50; since, it was actually put on the current slide.
I hope this helps ?

I believe they are following the 50% multi criteria scorer-50% lottery; since, it was actually put on the current slide.

I took my TEAS the day after the application was due because I didn't know ? because with my TEAS I would have 70/75
There should be two emails. One is asking for your TEAS score and another for eother admission or lottery.
The first email asking for TEAS should be based on the criteria before TEAS is added.
For example: (this is a hypothesis based on the nursinginfosession) a person earning 20/50 will have a lesser chance of being eligible compared to a person earning 50/50. Thus, the person with 20 won't receive an email asking for their TEAS score. While, the 50 will be asked to send in the TEAS.
Then, we now go on the next "Selection". If the people who got in has range of 40-50 score if you add their score. The top 20 would get priority seat. The rest of the people will then go on a lottery.
That's when they finally receive the admission email telling them to report and do certain steps.
I hope this makes sense.
And that's a really high pre-TEAS score. Congrats!!
It was specifically said not to send the score until further notice in all their documents, slides and nursinginfosession... so, I'm not exactly sure if that will impact any application... they have to verify one's eligibility first base on the first half of the criteria before asking for the score. But as usual this is only based on my understanding.

The score will be after they evaluate the eligibility of the application, I believe. In short, we'll have to wait to see if we're eligible to even send the ATI TEAS Score. I called them and the recorded message said that eligibility will be sent out via email on November. So, I guess we wait till they actually ask for it. I reread the slide #66 and it also says that. ?
I hope this helps.
