Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health ADN Program Spring 2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi Everyone!

I didn't see a thread for the Spring '23 application cycle at LACCONAH, so I figured I'd make one myself.  Feel free to drop in with any questions, comments, info, or stats! We got this☺️!

To any of you who still have not heard from the school about the live scan or the health screening. I received an Email from ———————- and she said once HR approves our paper then they will be sending instructions for live scan and health screening.

When we come to our health clearance appointment. Does anyone know where do we park at? Thanks in advance!

Hi Merryyy,

Check out our FB page (link is a few posts before this one). All the stats can be found there.

Hi all Congrats on your admission to this program! I had a quick question that maybe someone on this thread could answer. Does county allow you to defer admission to the next semester. I am applying for Fall 2023 semester and fingers crossed I can pay off all my debt and save up so I don't have to work during the program. I am really close to my goal but there is a possibility I might need extra time and wanted to know if they had flexibility with that.

Hello, can someone please let me know what the interview is like and what to expect? I see we will be asked two questions and do an activity. Does anyone know what the activity is?

Thank you!!

Can anyone provide the interview activities, questions or essay topics?

Also, was it a group interview? Please and Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply its been busy lately!

Interviews are conducted in groups. You'll be called into the administration building to watch a video and write a quick, timed essay response (2 paragraphs). Then you'll be further divided into pairs to conduct the verbal and hands on portion of the interview. You will be interviewed by your future nursing instructors so please dress to impress and come prepared with thoughtful, brief responses to questions like: Why CONAH? Why you want to become a RN? Etc.

The hands on activity usually tests your ability to not only follow instructions, but also your ability to effectively communicate said instructions so that your interview partner can complete the task too. What does this mean? You'll take turns giving instructions to one another on how to complete a certain (very straightforward) task. I can't give specifics on the hands on task because they change it every application cycle. Plus, they monitor forums like this to make sure everyone has a fair chance during the selection process.

The great thing is that if you've made it far enough to get an interview invite, you practically have a foot in the door. Take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride-you're one step closer to becoming a Registered Nurse!

Best of luck!???

Hi everyone, I just got accepted to the program for the fall and I was hoping you can answer a question. At what point is the drug testing done? And do you know what drugs they test for? Since weed is legal, is that still something they test for. Hope someone can get back to me! Thanks.

Hey Darwin,

CONAH doesn't drug test, especially for onboarding. They may once you're already in the program for suspicious/questionable behavior, but it's extremely rare. Hope this helps and congrats!
