Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health ADN Program Spring 2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi Everyone!

I didn't see a thread for the Spring '23 application cycle at LACCONAH, so I figured I'd make one myself.  Feel free to drop in with any questions, comments, info, or stats! We got this☺️!

I guess it's the waiting game now, huh?

Yes, from what I noticed in the boards last year, they received interview invitations the first week of September, with final decisions a month later. Obviously, things can change, but a faster turnaround would be kinder on our nerves LOL

Are you applying to any other programs? I have a few more on my list, but CONAH was the most generous putting me at 92 points. Wishing everyone the best of luck this application cycle!

I'm planning to apply to other schools, but CONAH is my top choice. It's the last time I'll be able to use my TEAS 6 score before having to retake the TEAS 7, which I really don't want to do. If I calculated my points correctly, I should also have a 91. Let's hope we get that interview email ?

Wow congrats on those 91 points!  I'm also not planning on retaking the TEAS. I think I've cast a wide enough net with the ADN and BSN programs I'm applying to this cycle that I hope to hear good news from at least one of them. We've put in the work and now it's just a matter of being both patient and lucky. I'll definitely let you know if I receive an email!??

Hi everyone! I applied for the Spring 23 cohort as well!
Good luck everyone!

What other Los Angeles based schools did everyone apply to?

I am really only looking at affordable programs right now.
(Under 15k for the ADN/RN license).

Are there decent on line schools that don't cost an arm and a leg that any one is looking at as well?

Welcome to the thread! Glad to hear from another Spring '23 applicant! Although super competitive, I think SoCal is one the best areas in terms of finding really affordable ADN programs. Given that we are in a large metropolitan area, there's a lot to choose from. Obviously getting admitted is a totally different story, but it's always worth a try.

Some other programs I've considered include LAHarbor, LASW, LAValley, LACC, Rio Hondo, Mt SAC, and Glendale CC. If you're willing to commute a little, there are a few more schools like Moorpark, and ones in OC like GWC, Citrus, and Santa Ana.

Your best bet for online programs would probably be 's Prelicensure BSN (2 1/2 yrs; 30k) where you'd have to flight out for clinicals/labs every 6 months. They have 10 pre-reqs, require TEAS, and tend to offer really good scholarships. As far as online ADN programs, although I'm sure they might exist, I personally don't know of any that are 100% online.

Wishing you the best of luck this application cycle!

Thank you so much for your response! This was very helpful. County is my first choice. But I know I have to broaden my horizons. I am applying to 6 schools this season, 4 schools being a lottery. I have anxiety that this isn't a wide enough net. I have good marks, but affordable programs are SO competitive.

You’re very welcome!

I think 6 schools is a great number to hang your chances on! Having most of them admit by lottery will also increase your odds.

County is my first choice as well. They’re one of the only schools with a set Mon-Thurs schedule which makes things easier work-wise.
If last year’s forum is any indication, we should be hearing back from County very soon!

They just sent out an email for the mandatory interview (on Sep 16th)

Thanks for the heads up!!

Aghhh!! I’m so excited?! What time did yall choose?
