Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health ADN Program Spring 2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi Everyone!

I didn't see a thread for the Spring '23 application cycle at LACCONAH, so I figured I'd make one myself.  Feel free to drop in with any questions, comments, info, or stats! We got this☺️!

Hello! I also applied to the Spring 2023 and if I'm being honest, I have a strong feeling I'm not gonna get in because my overall point score is quite low compared to previous scores I've seen.

But for the interview, I asked for the morning session because I have kids I have to pick up school, so it seemed the most convenient haha.

Wishing everyone luck! Public speaking/Interview are definitely not my strong suit.

Welcome to the sub, Ritchel!

Congratulations on advancing to the next step of the admissions process at CONAH! Out of hundreds of applicants, you've made it this far and that's absolutely amazing! I believe everyone who has been invited to interview has an equal chance of getting in. While it's normal to feel nervous (I def do!), just remind yourself that you have plenty of time to prep so you can share your passion for nursing and totally rock the interview!

I'm currently looking at YT vids and taking lots of notes for my morning timeslot as well. Feel free to dm me if you have any qs.

Wishing everyone the best of luck?

Hey, have any of you guys heard about LA County hospital offering a two-year job after completing the program? I've heard that you can get a job there after the program but I'm not sure they are still doing that. If anybody has more info on that, please let me know. Thanks!

Hey guys !

anyone else received the email about the mandatory interview? which time did you choose? any insights of which questions they may ask or want us to do ? any tip is appreacited.

Does anyone know if this school will count a recently repeat course over an older course that was completed with a passing grade? For example, I took microbio more than 7 years ago with a grade B, and had to retake the class for recency and got an A. So do they take my first attempt or most recent?

Congrats on the invite btw. I chose the early morning time slot. I just felt that if I took a later time slot, I'd just be stressing out all day about it LOL From previous CONAH threads, I saw they ask the typical qs: Why nursing? Why this school?

what time did you choose?

At the info session I attended, they mentioned taking your highest grade and also do not count Ws as repeats which is really generous of them. Did you apply this cycle?

Good luck on interviews this week everyone! I'm sending out all the good vibes for us!

If any one that has the morning slot feels inclined to / thinks of it, let us know how it went!

It was not as “scary” as I thought. We watched a video and wrote a paragraph about it. Then, second part: a small task with a partner (don’t worry, it was not difficult) + 2 interview questions ( why nursing and why this school). Everyone was very nice. Stay calm and good luck!
