Hi everyone!
I am an LPN currently working in Northern New Jersey for Bayada Nurses. I am looking to move to and transfer permanently to South Florida. Does anyone know the availability of work down in that part of the state and the average pay rates? Its a huge decision to make that move and I would like to get an idea of what I am getting myself into. I have 2+ years experience both in private pediatric home care as well as adult subacute care. Any infomation anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to allnurses! :balloons:
There are a bunch of existing threads here about nursing employment (and life in general) in FL -- have you looked at those? That would be one place to start. If you are coming from a Northern state, it's pretty much a given that you will be shocked by how poor the pay and benefits are for comparable work in FL, and the cost of living is still pretty high. I grew up in FL, left the first chance I got, and would never consider living there again. But, obviously, lots of people like it.
I suggest you browse through the FL forum (under the 'US" tab at the top of the screen) here and check out some of the threads.

I agree with elkpark. Florida has such low wages. I knew that the jobs would pay me less when I moved to Florida. However, I just didn't realize just how low.
