Looking for 2 year schools that start at different times

I am not doing well in my A&P II class. I am thinking of withdrawing and starting over at another 2 year school. My area has no openings and I am looking for a school that maybe starts in the summer or at different parts of the year. I also have the option of gen. studies and then to reapply and hope for the best, but the bad grade in A&P puts my GPA just under 3.0

where do you live? Do you have an ECPI Medical Careers Institute near by? Their program is great

A four year university may allow you to take a class...there may be extra fees. The good thing about those is that you can research the professors...ratemyprofessor...because more people participate. The thing is...is it the class, the professor, or you?

It was me totally. I had major health issue that caused me to lose focus. RE: ECPI, we live in NY, do they have dorms? I looked at the site and it did not have a course list either.

I'm so sorry to hear that. If that has been resolved, maybe the best thing to do is give it A shot again.

Any chance of getting a tutor or a top student in the class to help you or are you too far behind? I tutored other students all thru school.. My first one was a 18 yo in A&P1 who failed first test so bad......I tutored her thru both A&P's and she passed with B's. It can be done.

My A&P II grade I am embarrassed to say is a 58. They said I would need A's the rest of the way to get a c which is required. Meeting again this week, not sure if I just withdraw so it does not hurt the grade and then look at other schools outside the NY area as all are full in my area.

I really think you might be better off to withdraw at this point.

I agree..58 is just too low.. Sorry.. definately withdraw. Are all your other pre-reqs done? So when does nursing school start?

Do you think you might be able to find A&P class elsewhere? I wonder if any one would offer one on line..probably be tough cause of Lab? Have you checked all the schools to see if anyone offered one in the summer? Will they allow you to take A&P along with first semester nursing classes? This would be very hard so if you are even an average student..it might be too much. Online schools sometime have rolling admissions and many private schools do but the extra $$ may make it un-reasonable. Every 2 yr school I have heard of starts in Fall.

Maybe someone else will post with a better idea. Sorry.

yes the have a&p in the summer, but it is only 5 weeks and they did not advise I take it. How it works here, it I withdraw, my seat is now gone. I would need over 3.0 gpa which I should be around 3.17 with the W and then a quality point system. I was looking at out of state schools, but the bad thing is that I have a partial scholarship from the hospital I work at and that will be out the door if I leave. I have no one to blame but myself, just would stick having to take the last few of my pre-req's in the fall and then be turned down. I would either take a semester off, pay for more elective classes, or find a new field which I do not want to do. Just when you think you have things going well, the bottom falls out.

This is a bump in the road.. the bottom is not falling out. You said you were failing due to being sick.. true? Or is A&P just really hard for you? If if you are a good student and got tutor from the start.. a summer class might be okay?!? I am confused.. did you get into nursing school or are you waiting to see? Would you get to keep the ability to have partial scholarship if you just took A&P and whatever else you need in the fall? The take off in spring.

No it was a major family illness that derailed me. My focus was on my family and not on school as much as it should have been. I was in a the school for the fall had I passed A&P by May, but since that seems like it will not happen, I lose my spot and have to reapply. I will go back into the 1000's of application to be considered again, It goes on a point system, before my H.S. gpa was great and got me in, my college is not as good, so I have no idea where I will fall. I will have to wait until Spring for sure, if I do not get in, I will have nothing to take as all of my pre-req's will ben done.
