Hi guys/gals I am a 45 y/o male RN of 5 1/2 years. I will be at a point in my life where I will be able to travel. I plan on dedicating at least a year to this endeavor to see if I like it and probably a max of 5 years unless I end up loving it.
When giving up the comfort zone of a regular job that I actually like (small hospital ER) I plan on becoming very educated in this whole travel nurse thing in the next 2-3 months.
Is there any really good websites I should check out? I frequent many message board forums with my personal life hobbies and find them excellent sources of info.
I want to know how to choose a good agency, how to figure out these complicated pay systems, best living arrangements (motels, rent a room, agency housing, my travel trailer) etc.
I will be doing more for compensation vs. travel (90/10 money/travel ration)
So thanks for any light shedding you may do. My name is Gerald and I'm a married man of 27 years (yeah we married young) with two adult sons and 2 grandchildren.
Thanks,
Gerald

There is an incredible amount of content on PanTravelers available with a free signup. TravelTax is focused on, well, taxes. Both sites will tell you about common mistakes to avoid about tax homes and the effect on your take home compensation. PanTravelers has a calculator to help you boil down those complicated offers to a few numbers so you can compare them and analyze them on a level playing field.
