Looking for an RN position in McKinney/Frisco/Plano/Allen area as a new graduate

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am a new graduate RN with my ADN. I graduated with honors in May 2015 although unfortunately that does not seem to be offering me much help in my job searching endeavors :-(.

I attended nursing school and graduated in South Carolina, passed the NCLEX and moved to McKinney, Texas by the 1st of June 2015. Ever since then I have been non-stop searching for work. I am not being picky, I have applied to many hospitals and clinics in the area even branching out to Dallas, Irving, Richardson, Denton, Carrollton and Lewisville.

I have been met with a brick wall. Either I don't meet the requirements for experience or a BSN is required. I have a friend who works at Baylor in McKinney and he was not even able to help me get a job as a general med/surg nurse because they told him I needed a BSN. I am all for going back to school and getting my BSN however; I really need a job before I can afford that.

Does anyone have any advice in regards to how I can possibly get employed in the area?

I am confident I will make a good nurse and although I am a new graduate I am a fast learner and I just need to be given a chance. If anyone has any advice etc...please feel free to comment.

Thanks.
