Hi, guys.

I am an ER nurse, I'm 33 and I just got diagnosed with new onset fo a-fib. My life and my job are completely screwed up now.

If possible, I'd like to know about any online support groups or any other resources, because I have some questions and I can't ask them here and I don't feel comfortable talking about these things with co-workers who see me every day.

Thanks in advance.

I googled "support atrial fibrillation" and got a LOT of sites.

One is:

We tend to look at diagnoses differently when WE are the patient.

Keep asking your Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist questions.

Best to you. --- d

Your life and job are not screwed up! I'm sure the diagnosis was a shock, but at least now you can get the right treatment to stabilize the condition. Best of luck to you.

i was diagnosed two months ago with paroxysmal af. i have a pacemaker for sick sinus syndrome and they found this af when they did a pacemaker check. how could this be? it explained the possible tias i thought i was having. many hospital online libraries have explanations for the different arrhythmias.

did they put you on a medication? i was put on toprol which i did not tolerate at all, and now sotalol. i also have been taking a daily aspirin for several years. there was a very nice animation on discovery health, but i cannot find the web link at the moment. i'll keep looking for it.
