Which county are you desiring?
Right now due to economy, not many RN's moving/ leaving positions and fe new grad programs---few staffing positions are for experienced staff.
Chester County and Lancaster facilities have some openings as less schools of nursing in area. Other county's saturated, even in center city Philly. You are smart to get your application in early.
I graduated last May from Brandywine in chester county. Most of us sent applications in to all local hosptials while on Christmas break. I would start now and send in applications to all the hosp in the area then follow up phone calls to nurse recruiters letting them know that you sent in an application for any new grad postions they may have opening in the spring.
Good luck
PS I would try Brandywine, Lancaster General, Main Line Health.
I'm located 10 minutes away from Abington Hopsital. Idealy, it would be perfect to work there, since I already know that hospital fairlly well from clinicals and personal reasons. However, they are not hiring grad nurses or without experiance. I checked Brandywine, they are hiring, however, its so far way from where I live. If I was single it would be easier to move, however, I'm married and have a three year old daughter and expecting another baby in April. So, if I relocated it better be for a long term position.

I'm graduating in May, and I'm having a very hard time finding any type of postion outside of philadelphia, in the suburbs, that don't require one or more years of experiance. Anyone have any ideas as to where I can look further. I really don't want to work in center city. Thanks
