Looking for an LVN gig SoCal

Published

I'm a new grad lvn (July 2010) and can't seem to find a gig in any of the local LTC's or rehabs! I live in Long Beach. Any ideas?

Welcome to the club. Finished in 12/2009, license in April as well as IV and Blood Withdrawal Cert and there's /nothing/ in So Cal. I search every single day and have applied to countless facilities--hospitals, skilled nursing, and rehabs.

I just got on with Mollen Immunization Clinics so I can least make some money that way this flu season, but other than that--I'm still working as a CNA and dreaming of an LVN job.

Its a shame that you're still working as a CNA, and yet your facility won't hire you as a LVN/LPN.

wow I also thought I'd be well established working as an LVN now, got my license in June and also go out to LTF day to day, they all want experience..I live in Paramount and I'm starting to wonder if I'm better off searching for jobs in Los Angeles itself, I feel your frustrated.

There are currently no LVN positions at my job either. Markets rough even for the RN grads--a couple who worked with my hospital before graudating got hired, but only because they did nurse extern during school along with their normal jobs. Then the hospital got rid of our extern program.

We even have another employee who finished her BSN and passed NCLEX, also still working as a CNA. :(

I finally was able to secure a gig with a registry I worked for as a CNA... they sent me to a spot that doesn't require experience :) Just completed orientation today. The only problem is that its 8 hour shifts, but I'll take that right now

There are a ton of LPN openings in North County San Diego ( Vista ) if that is not to far to drive?

thanks for the info liberty I really appreciate it cause right now I am so frustrated seating home waiting for my registry to call me for caregiver jobs when they need me..I am willing to relocate to wherever I get a job first in California.. thanks much.

im from the san fernando valley and i was lucky enough to find a job in a ltc in long beach.. its my first job as an lpn and im hoping to gain a lil experience and hopefully find a job closer to home. not sure if were hiring but you can stop by and apply. just google "skylight convalescent hospital" hope it helps!

For those who still don't have jobs in SoCal, there are Opportunities out there calling... I now have to decline some jobs bcoz I can't be in 2 places at the same time.
