I am looking for a LPN program in Colorado. I heard Emily Griffith has a great program but I want to later move into RN program. I also checked in Regis What do you think?
No you can't take it DSN unless it's in your first quarter, so you have to take it somewhere else...You can tIe it Ny of the community colleges that offer it, I took it at ACC. Since your doing the ADN you should consider taking some of the other classes you can transfer in, I know nutrition you can, but I'm not sure what else. Just ask whoever your admissions person is when you talk to them on Monday. :)
AWESOME! I didn't know I could transfer classes into the program. That would be a great way to save a couple thousand $$$!
Another question, I see that it is set up in numbered quarters on the website. Is that the order you must take everything in, or is it like college where you have to take a group of classes and you can do it in any order? Is there anyway to take an extra class each semester and get out earlier?
I did think about NAU... but since I got into Concorde I didnt feel like lookin into to NAU! BUT I heard GOOD and BAD things about Concorde! So maybe it is a personal thing about how someone feels about Concorde, so who knows whats the truth. I am going for the RN program. I have a couple of family members that did their LPN program and the loved it. Its just I havent heard much abouot the RN program.
If it's a pre-req (as it is for the DSN, ADN program) you have to take the class, the accuplacer just tells you what class you can place into (or higher than), it's not a substitute - how I wish it was!
I applied to CU and the accuplacer I took at PCC put me into College Algebra. The accuplacer just indicates you have the skills to do that class, that's all.
Hi Caroline, thanks for the info, and congrats on your recent graduation! Would you say the program is diverse age-wise? I am 38 which I suspect makes me one of the older applicants. My GPAs from my previous degree and pre-req's are comparable to yours, which is encouraging.
thanks again,
A
Have your family members had any problems with finding jobs? What can you tell me about the lab and clinicals for the LPN program? I wanted to go for the RN program but, as soon as they found out I couldn't get financing for the balance that was left after financial aid, they told me to do the LPN program.

Thanks! I am applying for the ADN. Can I take Pathophysiology anywhere, or do I have to take it at DSN? Where do you recommend taking it?
