Hi guys,

I really need your advice. I have studied Bachelor of Nursing from Australia and after that i got married and came here now living in sacramento. I am still waiting for my nclex eligibilty:(. I guess i still have to wait for long time to get eligibility. I cannot just sitting home doing nothing. Guys do you have any idea about getting nursing assistant or medical assistant or job in medical field. I only have my bachelors degree along with nursing licence from australia but i guess it wont work here. I really need help guys. Please help me.. Should i call in nursing homes for a job or what should i do??

Hello

I don't think you can get a nursing assistant job without the certification. If you are planning to take your test soon then i would suggest you to just focus on your exam but if you are planning to take a break and wanna work then you can apply for CNA exam since you have finished your nursing,You won't need to take CNA classes you can just take the test and get your certification and find a CNA job..:)

Good luck

Thank you soooo much. Is this exam hard as NCLEX ???

I have no idea about the CNA exam you might check the CNA thread to get the better idea about this test. But don't worry it won't be as harder as nclex :p

In some states nursing students can be hired as nurses aids after fulfilling the first semester of nursing where you learn the fundamentals of nursing like vital signs, positioning, basic care. I am sure as a nurse you could challenge and pass the exam....even if you need to take it I would check with the state Board where you live.

Thank you so much for the info :) I am living in sacramento california.
