Hi,
I am an American RN on my way to Ireland to work. Just wondering if you made it over there and/or found some Irish RN connections? Thanks.

Are you mad??
Sorry to be so blunt but is next to impossible to get work in Ireland at the moment. The economy is in the pan and the government has just been dissolved!
I have been in Australia for the past 3 years because of it and many of the people I went to uni with are over here. Or if they are at home and still got jobs they have just taken a 15% pay cut and higher taxes and reduced hours with more work. The Irish health system is modelled on the NHS and as such everyone who is a resident is entitled to free health care in the public system. However with budget cuts since the GFC which is still evident in Ireland people are waiting up to 3 years for non life threatening surgery.
PM me if you want more info. Karen
I already have a job. Thanks.
wow that is great!
Sorry if you took the message the wrong way but so many people believe that Ireland is still booming and don't realise that we were cut off at the knees when the GFC hit because we are so reliant on the US economy.
Congratulations on the job! Where is it? Don't worry I'm not wanting it :) I am quite busy here in Australia setting up a brand new ward as an ANUM (CNM 1) acting up as our manager is on leave just as we try to become operational in 4 days flat!
