I’m looking to invest in a new stethoscope and would like some opinions. My current one is a Littman (don’t really remember which series but it was a middle-of-the-line). I got it when I was in nursing school, so some almost 20 years ago. It has served me very well but I would like to upgrade from it to perhaps a cardiology series. Any thoughts?

Depends on what you will be using for I suppose. I swear by Littman and do think they are by far the best in the field. I currently use the Cardiology 4. I bought it to replace my Master Cardiology, there was nothing wrong with it but it's just so darn heavy. I had it maybe 18 years and replaced the tubing once which was an expense in itself. I probably don't really need one of the cardiology line but I found it on sale for a somewhat reasonable price and from experience I know if I treat it well it'll last pretty much forever as all the individual parts are replaceable if they wear out or somewhere break.

I love my electronic ones - second one I've owned and they are so lightweight
