I'm finishing up nursing school and i have shadowed a few NP's how are hospitalist and I know that is something I want to go into. Does anyone have info on the future of NP's as hospitalists, job market/demand? I am looking to apply to a 20 bed CCMU (critical care medcine unit) at a large university institution....do you think three years there would be suffcient while also completeing an ACNP? All responses are welcome and thanks in advance

I live in central IL and hospitalist NPs are the rage right now - many openings. However, all require shift work, weekends, holidays. What part of the country do you live in?

I am in Michigan, so midwest but also when i graduate I am willing to go just about anywhere. As a new RN what ICU do u think will be most beneficial to my future practice?

Whew- I would think a busy MICU/SICU or CCU would fit the bill. If you want to go for more procedures, the CVICU.
