Looking for some help moving forward

Published

I just found out i bombed a test in my 3rd semester of RN school. I am going to withdraw as I have no hope of passing this class. I have used my one mulligan a few years back so I have no idea what to do now as they will not readmit me. I am only 22 years old. I still want this more than anything and do great on the hands on/clinical portions just have text anxiety and being treated now for that. It is just a little too late I am afraid. Does anyone know of anywhere on-line I could go to finish my last 14 credits? Any help would be appreciated.

Why would you drop out for one bad test?

Online programs will not accept you if you have failed out of a traditional program. (I am assuming that due to your age you are not eligible to begin an RN-BSN program because you're probably not an RN already).

You can throw yourself upon the mercy of the Dean, and have testing to determine whether you have a learning disability or other bona fide reason for accommodations during testing (but it might be a little late for that). Or you can do something else for a few years, reapply with demonstration of increased maturity and good character, and throw yourself on the mercy of that dean again, or the dean of another program. You will have to start all over again anyway if your old program won't readmit you, because you can't transfer credits from one program to another, usually.

Good luck!

there is no way to come back from it, I would need an 85,85 and 85 on final and with my testing issues not sure that is foreseeable. I am working with dr's getting the proper help for my testing issues just not sure if it is really too late. I so wish I would have been tested prior, when read the exam I bombed I got all the questions correct. Just something about the hand written test, my fault just hoping for the best but not getting my hopes up at all

If you have a bona fide disability, tell them and give them the documentation. You might not be credited because you have (I guess) passed previous semesters without accommodations, but hey. What do you have to lose by trying?

ask if you can do the test orally. If you do drop out you may be able to use treatment documentation as a way to get back in. Meanwhile, you might consider working as aide, monitor tech or some other medical-related field to show you are serious and to learn more.

Yes that is a question I am going to ask and hope that with the new documentation they will at least give me the consideration. I do work at and ITA in the emergency room and have been for 3 plus years. Not to toot my horn but I have done so very well in each and every situation and know I would be a great nurse and also have been told that by many. If it were not for the hand written test uggggggg. I am so serious and just want so much for the opportunity to get this chance with accommodations to help with my issues.
