Long Island Pay Rates

Published

Hi all! I was was wondering if anyone is willing to share average pay rates for Long Island?

I have an interview coming up and if I’m offered the position, I want to make sure I negotiate fair compensation for my experience- I’ve been a nurse 16yrs. My last position was $48/hr (outpatient) I’m not sure if that was low? This new position is in the hospital.

Thanks I’m advance!

Hi! Northwell has alot of locations on LI and they list their payscale on each job posting. New grads start at about $47/hr. And each year of experience is typically .50cents for each year I believe. Pick a hospital with NYSNA union. Good luck!

Specializes in ICU.

Like previously stated - Northwell does hold the majority of Long Island Hospitals. Mt. Sinai South Nassau is another option on the South Shore and Catholic Health Services has a few along the island.

Starting rate from what I am aware is around $47-49/hr. And pretty much across the board it's an extra 50 cents/hr for experience.

The hospitals that pay more: Northwell affiliates

However, Mt. Sinai and a few other hospitals have clinical ladder opportunities that will bump up your salary quite a bit - if you meet certain research, community service and professional markers.

Since salary is all around the same - it really depends where you'd be most comfortable and happy.
