Anyone who goes to lonestar college. What is your schedule like with clinicals? Now that I finally have a chance of getting accepted -I'm stressing- My husband works graveyard 60 hours a week- So I pretty much have to rely on traditional daycare. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance. :uhoh21:
atrice how is your sister liking the program at north harris? about half of the folks i've talked to liked it and the other half said it was unnecessarily hard.
it is not unnecessarily hard...nsg school is different from general/acedemic classes that we take to get into the program. it has not been a piece of cake....the volume/amt of work in nsg school is what almost did me in especially during my first year....but then you kind of get use to it and you know what the instructors expect. critical thinking/application/analysis during test taking is what got me during my 1st and 2nd semester. nsg school tests are like no other test you have ever taken before.
my sister is also graduating may 8th from north harris. she has completed the program, but has stated she has really liked it....nh is very organized since they have had their nsg program the longest of all of the nhmccd colleges. i am sorry...i hate the fact that they have changed the name to lone star. the change just took place this spring semester...and now i will have that name on my degree. oh well, i plan on getting my bachelor's next anyway:) will you be attending nh?
thanks for your response. yes i will be starting the nursing program at north harris in august. i'm taking pharm this summer, and i'm extremely nervous about all of those chapters being crammed into 6 weeks. i will give it my all because failure is not an option for me. i know nursing school is not a piece of cake, but i'll feel more confident if i know the instructors are going to be helpful. did you take the lvn practicums during the summer after the first year? i plan on doing that so i can work part-time as an lvn while i'm in my second year of the program. i think it will help give me the confidence i need once i get my adn. good luck to you and your sister on your graduation! i can't wait until that final semester.
