Anyone applying? Does anyone know if there is a traditional program for kingwood?
I love danskos but I refuse to pay that much for shoes I'll only wear one day a week and never wear after nursing school. I bought these at scrubs etc the girl at the store said they were pretty popular and comfortable. Klogs Unisex Boca Nursing Shoe | allheart.com
Yep. The girl at Scrubs Etc. also had me try on the Klogs as well. They were comfortable, but I didn't buy them because she said that they shouldn't be big in the back like other clogs by Dansko and Sanita, but they were on me. I may just end up going with a white tennis shoe. I've seen some by Skechers and some Saucony ones as well. I'm not a huge fan of New Balance, but Saucony has always been good to me with their running shoes, so I may opt for them.
I went yesterday and did my fingerprinting so I can get the background check done. I made the appt. the same day we had orientation and the closest opening they had was just yesterday...I hope I get my blue card in time!
I did the same. Mine was done last friday (10/12). I'm sure you'll be alright. It probably doesn't take as long as they say but use that timeframe as a "just in case" measure.
I was kind of confused though. Past threads had said people were getting blue cards before they received acceptance letters. If you have to do the background check to get the blue card and you don't get the information to do the background check until orientation/or sometimes after acceptance, then how did people get them prior to - unless they are an LVN? I was thinking it had something to do with that FERPA form but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I was wondering that too...I'm not sure! Now I need to find a CPR class.
Hello All, I had almost forgotten about the message board after getting my acceptance letter. I think I am caught up on all the topics now, but does anyone remember what brand the stethoscopes were that the college was going to be selling? Or which stethoscope does anyone plan on buying. Scrubs: OK, I tried on the landau, unisex and even the small swallowed me and I am not a little person! The other ones with the piping fit ok, so I will probably just buy those. Hope everyone is getting there stuff together! See you all soon.

I don't remember the brand name, but have you checked your mylonestar email lately? I know they sent us an email a few days ago with the link to the order form for the stethoscopes. I haven't really taken the time to look, but I plan on looking through them.
The stethoscope is the MDF777...there are a couple options in the email but at orientation the MDF777 was the midrange one that admin said people had and liked the best.
I have not purchased anything else or tried on uniforms. I probably won't get into that stuff until December to allow my wallet to recover from a wedding and holiday trip next month. All I need is the blue card and my packet is complete, so that is a relief.

Good idea...I'll see if I can do a similar one for fall 2012
