Anyone applying?
yes, search Lonestar Cy-Fair ADN Nursing C/O Winter 2013. i'm an admin and i'll add you.
About the books, on the slide show it said books would be about $550.00, but when I looked online and added up all the materials for each class - it equaled $900-$1000.... I'm confused, can anyone help?

Depends on where you buy books but I'm guessing we ll probably spend at least $500~ on books alone. I think the price on the pp was not updated and the price increased
I just purchased through Amazon Fundamentals of Nursing and Taylor's Clinical Nursing Skills for $156 (about $75 each one + shipping). If you get the package with both books at the bookstore it costs $188. So it's not a huge difference but at least I got to save something. Both books are in like new condition, with cd and/or access codes included.
Look for them separately instead of looking for the whole package so you can compare prices.
There's good stuff in ebay too.
So far I've spent $211 (without shipping costs) and I got: Nutrition, Taylor's clinical nursing skills, Taylor's checklist, Fund of nursing, Doc & nursing process, and Nurses' handbook for health assessment. All of them used but most of them like new condition.
I'm not sure about Fund Success and Test Success though. It says both are required but is that true? I mean they'll be obviously useful in order to prepare for the tests but does it matters whether or not we decide to purchase both or just one of them?
I noticed when I was turning in the survey that one of the program's students did not show up for orientation. I also noticed that some girl showed up when we were nearly finished and she was allowed to sign in. That upset me because here is some chick that can't make it on time and she was way past late, while there are perfectly good alternate candidates who obviously were responsible enough to show up on time, why did they let her sign in? That just is not right, how many times is she going to be allowed to show up for class late. I also couldn't help but notice that she didn't even take the time to groom her hair. She looked unkept. If she can't take care of her own self who else is she possibly going to neglect, if she even makes it past the first two or three weeks. RANTING!!!!!!! Ok I feel better, but it is still not right to all of the alternates she was allowed in sooooo late.
