Lonestar Fall 2016 hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone. I know it's quite a bit early, but I wanted to see if there were any Fall 2016 hopefuls out there for Lonestar. Please feel free to discuss, ask questions, or talk about any relevant or pertinent information here. I look forward to speaking with you all.

I hope we would hear from them so soon. The waiting is killing

Same here lolí ½í¸”

I have been checking my email and this website obsessively! I don't want to call and be THAT person calling and annoying the poor person who answers the phone but the wait is killing me!

I know that we should hear from them very soon. Last application periods got e-mails by the 14th.

I saw that too. Last year they started getting notifications on 4/14. I keep checking my email, but nothing yet. I think I read that North Harris and Cyfair got notifications first then the others were one to two days later.

hey i was wondering ...do u think it is beneficial that you have been an LVN first ? Have u had much time as an LVN ? What are your thoughts on this

Hello all, current student in the Program just stopping by to say good luck I remember I could not stop checking my email and this thread the Same time last year!

Personally, Yes and No. Yes because you gain nursing experience. No because when you go through the ADN program you have no break in learning so you remember the things you have learned better. This may be different for each LVN but for me I graduated from Practical/Vocational Nursing in 2009. I worked my first two years in a large private family practice and then moved to Texas and worked in Pediatrics. I worked for UTMB Alvin Peds clinic, a multi-specialty clinic(I worked in Peds) owned by Tomball Regional and now a private peds clinic in Montgomery. My advice to anyone going into the LVN program, I would say set yourself up so you can transition immediately into the ADN program, If being an RN is your goal. I don't have any regrets but when I graduated financially I couldn't afford to not work for another year to do the transition program to get my ADN. I hope that helps with any questions or concerns you have.

Well Nh starting getting them Thursday April 16 around the afternoon. I believe Cyair got them a day sooner. The rest of the campuses around the Same time as Nh. Hope this helps.

thank you ...yes i am thinking it would be beneficial in alot of ways especially as far as getting experience but yes financially I know I will need to work while in the transition and dont know how that would go... thank you!

Cyfair already sent out lvn acceptance email. So ADN should be next week
