Lonestar 2015 fall hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone! Has anyone applied for the fall yet? I'm studying for my HESI and will be applying soon!

I think for transitional they were using the 12 pt system for the fall enrollment then switching to 8 from then on

I did the 8 point system

for montgomery, north Harris and tomball.

Montgomery is definitely on an 8 point system for the ADN program. Has anyone heard from an adviser when they will be sending out letters? The anticipation is killing me!

I'm a newb on here. Fall '15 applicant. What is a DO and how do we do it?

That's a declaration of any misdemeanors to BON

DO stands for Declaratory Order. You must submit one if you have any past criminal history (you dont have to include Class C misdemeanor traffic violations) but anything else you must send into the board of nursing. Here is the site with more info: Texas Board of Nursing - Declaratory Order.

Thanks for your reply. How did you know this needed to be completed before starting the program?

It says so on the admission requirements

Also if you had your license suspended you have to do a DO

Interesting. FYI there are some misdemeanors that qualify for expungement, depending on the crime and your plea to that crime, in which case you are not required to disclose those activities to regulatory bodies or licensing organizations.

Hey guys!!!

My name is Crystal and I applied to the Montgomery RN program!! I've been following your post for awhile so I know when students are starting to receive acceptance letters.. The reason I went through the hassle of retrieving my login info is because I seen some asking about the D.O. I actually got accepted into the Kingwood Program and was supposed to be starting last January. I did everything i was supposed to do, went for my fingerprinting and one month before the final deadline.. I got a letter saying I needed to get a DO(get cleared through the Texas Board of Nursing) because I got arrested in 2007 for driving while license suspended. I always heard everyone saying "If you need a DO to start early" because it takes FOREVERRRR. So I asked if I needed one and was told, "No, not if its a traffic violation." So, I'm just writing this to let you know that if you have EVER been arrested for ANYTHING.. Start your DO now! :D Needless to say, I was cleared and now have everything in order!! lol Thank God :) Wishing everyone the best of luck... Hope this helped someone!

Its not just being arrested.... I got an MIP (just a misdemeanor ticket) when I was 16 and have to do a DO for it.
