Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

Lonab04 did you do your CBC , I was told not to do it until we were officially accepted. I have my blue card, cpr and up to date with all my immunization. I just have not submit it to the CBC, you think I should do it any ways. By the way do you know where you are on the alternate list for the LVN program. If I don't get in to the LVN program I am going to retake the HESI test in May 6 and try for the ADN program at Kingwood 2015. What is your plan?

I did everything! I wasn't told not to. I even took my blue card up to Montgomery so they could copy it. My CBC list is compliant and I am also an alternate for Cyfair. I also applied to Kingwood's LVN program. If I don't get accepted I will definitely retake HESI this summer with hopes of trying for ADN next Spring. Last week I was #9 on the alternate list. I'm sure it will go down because ADN letters went out yesterday. #fingerscrossed and ??

We can fax our DO application right? I finally received my court documents. Amberly, have you heard back from the BON??

Yes we can, no I haven't :/ I hope to hear back from them a week or two after I do my background check. I will be able to at least relax when I hear from them.

I agree. I also have my fingerprints scheduled for next week on the 24th. And do I need a cover sheet when faxing my documents and stuff?

Doing my finger prints today very nervous hopefully I get the all clear in a few weeks!

I still haven't received my blue card I called the BON and they told me they haven't received my prints yet and my deadline is next week for the VN

They told me that it would take 24-48 hrs to get to the BON. Maybe you should call the place you got them taken at. Did the bon tell you anything to do?
