Hello everyone!
I just wanted to start a new thread for all of us who will be starting the CyFair program this Fall 2009. Congratulations to all of you!
To those who are on the wait list, don't give up! From what I've read in the previous threads Lonestar does try to get you into their programs! Good luck to everyone!
The scrub tops are orange with blue trim and the pants are navy blue. Make sure you have a watch with a second hand.... I'm not sure if they told you but you need a blood pressure cuff along with your stethescope and make sure you buy one of those clips to put your ID card in. If you need any more info just ask... I'm in the class just above you guys

Do you have any suggestions on what kind of blood pressure cuff? What are the clips for the ID card? Are they in the bookstore?
You have to get just the standard manual blood pressure cuff, doesn't matter what color its your choice, scrubs ect. has tons of them they're about 17.00 (I think) stethascopes are expensive get a good one you'll use it and have it forever..... the clips attach your ID card to your uniform again scrubs ect has them about $4
I just called back the bookstore to confirm the color of scrub bottoms we will be wearing and it appears that they don't have a clue. Im hoping this means the lady earlier was wrong and that they are sticking with blue pants because orange... well, that's just not funny!! Besides, it doesn't make sense for them to change it so I think it's safe to say they're blue.

I spoke with 3 different people, all different answers... I just called Cristina and she has now named me "Pumpkin" and "Pumpkin Pie". She says hello to you too.
I sent an email to the ADN department asking about it, but another source told me she doesn't think we need scrubs until 2nd semester. (thanks by the way).
Oh yea - what's the "nurses kit"?

A titer was required for chicken pox if you have no record of the illness, at least for our class
