I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?
Good luck to all applying:)
the north harris nursing department website has awesome information on it!
check it out.got this from the site:
"professional nursing program - basic track: beginning nursing students are admitted in april and will begin their four sequential semesters of nursing courses in julyaugust. nursing courses are offered at four sites: lone star college-cyfair, lone star college-tomball, lone star college-montgomery, and lone star college-north harris. about 220 students enroll in the class: 50 at lone star college-cyfair, 40 at lone star college-tomball, 30 at lone star college-montgomery, and 100 at lone star college-north harris. due to bne mandated teacher/student ratios, students may be accepted at a campus other than the one to which they originally applied.
the basic track program is a full-time, day program. you will be in class/skills labs twice a week for approximately 4 hours per day between 8 a.m.-2 p.m. you will also practice your skills in a hospital for either a one day 10 hour clinical, or a two day clinical for 5 hours each day. most clinicals are in the day but some are scheduled at night based on hospital availability. we can not guarantee which class, lab or clinical times, days will be available when you register. lastly, you will have computerized exams on friday mornings until ~12 p.m. studying and projects require an additional time commitment."
