Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Hi, I just decided in December to apply to the ADN for next fall. Top choice is Montgomery but now I think I might have an issue. I already have a bachelors in something else from 2011, and I just realized today that my B in English that transferred is going to give me issues based on this scoring system that I just figured out today. I originally hadn't been considering the adn because I didn't know if I could get financial assistance because of my bachelors degree, but Texas workforce solutions offers assistance which is why i decided to apply.

I have an A in AP1/2 and a 97.6 on the hesi. So with my transfer grade of B in English that gives me 7.4 ? from reading the comments on here I think that means it might be hard to get into my first choice.

Saw an advisor today but it's too late to get into the English 8 wk class because it already started. That was my only shot at fixing this...

Hey ! I would just to apply to all campuses and then after first semester transfer !i would love to go to mongomery too and have enough score I guess to get in , but it’s like an hour drive plus I have kids so extra half an hour of sleep means a lot for me

Jennifer, you have a great score! Unfortunately due to the competitiveness, it is not high enough to be selected for Montgomery. However you should get accepted at your second, third, or fourth choice. I would still apply; it doesn't hurt to try. Alternatively, you can apply to the LVN program if you don't want to wait another semester to apply. I want to go to Montgomery as well. I take the Hesi on Thursday; I'm praying that I score well enough to list them as my first choice.

Is transferring a real possibility? The advisor I spoke said it wasn't. But she's not with the actual nursing program so maybe she doesn't know. I am attending the info session on feb 6 at Montgomery so I guess I can ask then.

thank you!

Hey for Montgomery I went to info session last year and the advisor hosted it Ms. Robertson she said the past fall 2019 cut off for acceptance was a 7.6. so I can only image that it has went up. I would still apply because you could possibly be an alternate to the program, or get into a different program. Tomball, North Harris, Cypress. Also apply for lvn because in reality its still 2 years for ADN. With LVN you can bridge to RN and still graduate.

It’s an option ! If they have a spot ! But I am sure they usually have one ?if not more after first semester ? the only thing that sucks that you may need new scrubs ,maybe books. And you should have Same type of curriculum. Lots of ppl transfer but you have to be an excellent student ?

Does anyone know when they send out acceptance notifications for the different campuses?

Wow!! That’s an amazing HESI score! I hope you get into your first choice - which I have no doubt! Hoping everything works out for you!

I thought about Montgomery but whew, that drive is no joke for me lol

Sitting at 7.7 as well - I’m hoping I’ll be able to get a spot at CyFair.. not gonna lie, super nervous about it ? wishing you the best, and hoping y’all get in at Montgomery!

Hi everyone! I will be applying for the fall at Tomball, Montgomery & NH. My application score is a 7.56. I’m a little anxious that this may be cutting it close!! Should I retake my HESI? I have an 89 overall score right now! ??

That’s a great score! I’m sure you’ll get into the program. The cut off last application was a 7.3 overall so unless it bumped super high I’m sure you’re good. Montgomery’s cut off was a 7.6 so if you’re putting Montgomery as your first choice you may want to retake the HESI, however, I think you’ll get into Tomball or North Harris.
