Lone Star College 2022 LVN-RN transition Program

Published

I am applying to the 2022 LVN-RN LSC transition program. I am debating if I should retake the HESI for a higher score or just cross my fingers with my 7.456. I was looking into Tomball as my #1. What is everyone else’s scores? Thanks in advance.

Let me see if I can private message you...

Does anyone know where to get the lippincott textbooks for cheap?

I graduated from the Tomball location this month and have all my books for sale. They all have their codes for online access except for 1. I'm not sure if our books are the same as yours though.

All of these have UNused codes except the Med/Surg Nursing. All are for sale.

I went to Kingwood & have mine as well but they are different than the other persons so you'll have to tell us what books you need.

First off Congratulations for completing the program!

Wow! Majority of your books are FA Davis.  That's interesting. North Harris is using Lippincott wolters kluwer.

I need the Lippincott Med-surg 15th edition, Maternal child nursing 4th edition, skills for nursing education 5th edition, fundamentals of nursing 9th edition. Do you have these?

Unfortunately not. Mine are different. It stinks they change the books so often & by location so we can't share books!

Oh darn! I was really hoping I'd find someone who may have the used books. Thank you both for offering and checking for me though. I appreciate it.

If yall don't mind me asking, Any studying tips yall can recommend for the program?

Oh gosh. Where do I even begin? First off, no matter how hectic & time consuming you think it'll be.. double that! BUT you can do it! I mainly studied the PowerPoints & associated information in the books (don't attempt to read entire chapters). For our program 99% of the time the homework was not helpful as far as studying for exams. Mainly just pace yourself. Do what you can every day so you're not feeling panicked when the due date comes. Don't over stress about doing amazing on the homework & passpoints/prepu's as they are just a participation grade (and very small percentage of your grade) and you have more important things to focus on. It's very easy to get overwhelmed, I know I cried a lot my first week ? but you can & will do it. One step at a time.

You've given the perfect description of nursing school. LOL my LVN program had me this way as well. Okay, so powerpoints and notes should help for exams. Gotcha!

Did yall have alot of EHR?

No, actually zero.
