Lone Star College 2019 LVN to RN transition

Published

Hello to all! I wanted to start this thread specifically for those who were planning on applying to the various Lone Star College transition programs starting in 2019. I have seen and posted in the thread for the traditional ADN applicants, but I think the LVN-RN warrants it's own thread.

So, my plans are to apply to both North Harris and Kingwood campuses. I wanted to apply to Montgomery as well, but won't be able to attend there due to their 5-day a week, heavily loaded Summer semester. Just won't work with my work schedule.

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that I have sort of a unique perspective as I was previously enrolled in Kingwood's transition program in 2016, but was forced to leave after the first semester due to an unexpected family emergency. So feel free to ask any questions!

I took the HESI on August 30th and my application score will be 7.71. When I was accepted to Kingwood's program, my app score was 7.74, for any who are wondering.

Yes I signed up for Tues clinicals at Northwest. It’s the closest to me. And I also saw that it said Mon and Tues. but I think we only have 1 day clinicals

I also signed up for Tues clinicals at Northwest due to location.

I also will be attending clinicals in the northwest hospital! I’m so excited for tomorrow ?

Actually, I'm having trouble. I am not registered but I have no holds and it doesn't appear that I need my application updated. Can anyone advise me please.

Hey guys, just a quick follow up to my post earlier about item #13 on Castle Branch. Juanita sort of clarified it at orientation, so when we left I called CB. They put in a ticket to have that item reviewed. As of yesterday the status changed from rejected to accepted.

If you encounter the same problem, just give them a call.

hey may I ask what were the cutoff scores for you all. I start my lvn program in june and I wnated to see the scores for the transsition when its time for me to apply

I am told that as long as you score 7 and above, you should be okay.

I got into Kingwood with a 7.74 back in 2016 and into North Harris this year with a 7.71. Top tier is going to be around 7.8 and bottom of the rung is going to be 7-7.1. If you can land somewhere in there, you're golden. Keep in mind though that some schools are more competitive than others. Montgomery, for example, is documented one year as having their transition cutoff at around 7.5, which is pretty crazy.
