Lone Star College LVN hopefuls Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Wondering who all applied to the LVN program with Lone Star College for Montgomery and Kingwood for this coming Fall 2019. I got tired of waiting on an alternate letter or rejection letter for the ADN program for M, T, CF, and NH. I wonder if they were waiting to submit letters just to see if we weeded ourselves out by applying to a different program. I was going to apply for the CF, K ADN program on June 3rd along with the LVN program but I was told we couldn’t apply to more than one at a a time.

How did you not get accepted into the ADN program with a 7.6?

I'm old lol I'm only applying for LVN. Long story short I applied and got accepted in 2017 but failed my 1st semester. I've got 4 kids and a husband who works out of town ALOT. Not that that's an excuse. Life happened I guess I can say. So yea that's why I'm just applying to LVN.

Lol. I say I'm old too but want to get the full BSN. I'll be 46 this year luckily my second kid is graduating high school this year and my youngest graduates next year. Not sure how people do all this with young kids. Good luck to you.

Thank you. Yea after failing I told myself maybe after my last kid is in school I'll go back. So here I am applying again fingers crossed it goes way better. And my youngest sleeps through the night now so I got hope. I would love to get my BSN but I think that's still a while away for me. There were a couple girls in the program with 4-5 kids who did it so it is possible. I guess it just wasn't my time yet. Good luck on your nursing journey too!

I debate on LVN or ADN program. In either case it would be at Cy-Fair. I don't know about the context of the programs and until I read post here was going to apply at both for Jan. Maybe my age (44) is a factor in leaning towards ADN, but I'm interested in knowing the motivation behind choosing LVN.

It is easier to get into the ADN program if you transition from LVN. You have better chances of getting a spot.
