Hey there!
I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.
I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.
In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone
Hi! New here! I am a nervous wreck! I was already accepted to a nursing program but now we are moving and I am trying to get in to Kingwood in a matter of 9 days. My other program only required HEP B immunizations so now I had to go do the titer. I had to request a HESI transcript, which could literally take up til the day after the deadline. I also don't have math because I was always exempt at my other school due to my SAT scores. I have a 7.584 which does not worry me BUT I am super worried about all of these other roadblocks! The adviser yesterday told me I may not have to take TSI since I already have A&P 2, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Psychology and my Fine Art but I have not heard back from Valerie. Any advice on the TSI if I do have to take it?I haven't taken any math since 2003!!
We can only hope! What is your score out of 8? I hate how low mine is but, I rather apply and hope than to not apply at all. Plus, I'll just try to reapply in january. Does anyone know if there's mini mesters for anatomy? Because I rather do that or hybrid if possible.
If you have to retake AP2- take professor Galvan at the Tomball campus. She is amazing! I took hybrid classes with her for 1 & 2

If you have a criminal record, you can submit a background check before applying to the program to gain clearance to be able to sit for the NCLEX because it can take up to a year to come back depending on what is on your background. Once you apply and is accepted, they will conduct another just in case because something's could have changed between then and now HOWEVER since you've already submitted a declaratory form to TBON the clearance will come back much quicker the next time a background is to be submitted assuming nothing new is added to your criminal record. I know this because I had to submit mines for traffic tickets.
