Loma Linda University Winter 2011

Published

Hi,

This is my first post! I wanted to see if anyone out there is applying to Loma Linda University School of Nursing for the winter 2011 quarter?? Or if anyone has had an interview or anything like that!

Thanks

What extra classes do you have to take in the pipeline program? Do those classes start in Jan and then you start nursing courses in March (spring quarter)? Just curious :)

There are 6 classes that cover math, writing, science, etc. They are only for a quarter (10wks) and you have to pass with a B. Once you pass that quarter you are gauranteed a spot in the spring start date. (march)

Hi I know this thread is quite old but I just found out I was put on the alternate list for Fall 2011 at LLU, I wanted to know how many of you who were put on the alternate list actually got in that same term you applied or if you used your application for the next term?

Thank You

I didn't get in for winter and was guaranteed a place in fall. It depends in your letter, some people have to reapply and some dont. Good luck though. It is time consuming once you get in.

Christi so you will be starting this fall 2011? Congrats on that, well I just found out that I'm on the alternate list the committee barely made their decisions this week so I'm hoping all goes well and I can secure a spot. Did you find it helpful trying to keep in contact with Heather or anyone in admissions on your status as an alternate, I just don't want to feel like I'm bugging them

i am an alternate for the pipeline program for fall 2011 and i am curious how it works and when will i know if a spot opens up or not? i got a call the other day saying that i needed to schedule an appointment with the person in charge of the pipeline program, is that something everyone has to do? or does it mean that im in?

I just finished the pipeline in March. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask. It is a lot of work, but it really does prep your for the first quarter of nursing school. Good luck to all who are going to be in it this Sept.

did you have to do an interview for the pipeline program? and were you off the bat accepted to the pipeline program or were you an alternate first?

I was accepted right away. I never did an interview, but did go in and meet her on my own so she could explain the program a little better. Don't worry she is super nice and you have nothing to worry about. I think they are starting to do interviews because it is such a small group of people and they want to make sure each person is a good fit. Just let them know that you are excited about it.

ohh okay. yeah i had no clue what the pipeline program was until i read it on here! lol my interview with her is on monday! im nervous and excited! what school did you come to loma linda from?

Don't be worried at all. She is super nice and will make you feel at home. I came from University of Hawaii. I got my undergrad from there and a masters from Argosy. Lotta school to bring me to nursing. :) good luck and hope to see you in the fall.
