hi guys,

Hope that we will hear from LLU sometimes next couple of weeks. Anyone has any idea about HRST test? Good luck

39 months @ 138k not including cost of living. What's the appeal with this school? Why would anybody want to go here if they weren't geographically tied down to a location?

Not mad at that question at all. Me personally I'm born and raised in Socal, so getting into one or all of the 3 schools here on the first go round is the goal. The other two programs here are roughly 95k and 133k and all hyper competitive. I do know LLU program is good, great clinical site, 100% passing last few years, 0% attrition last year, no gre requirement which is important for some. It does seem to be 3 months longer than most but a lot of classes first year are online and only require you to go to campus week or so beginning of each term, from my understanding. Also it is a faith based university and for some attending an institution that respects that is important.

There are not many CRNA programs compared to the number of applicants so it helps to cast a wide net especially considering each program is looking for best applicants that fit their particular program.

Apparently there is an incredible allure considering the amount of applicants they receive despite the spiritual advisor recommendation required and the 5+ different essay prompts required to answer with the app. At the end of the day I can understand your question, but if you read through various threads you can see how hard some people work with no interviews, or denials, or waitlisted multiple times with the hope of pursuing this dream we all have it should be no surprise why people want to there.

Specializes in Pediatric CVICU.

I assume when they graduate they won't work in that area. With that much in loans, there are rural places paying lots of money to people who want to knock out their school loans quick lol

Working in a rural area sounds good in theory until you're actually living in a rural area. Anyways, good luck everyone.

Yea, different strokes. What seems ridiculous to some makes perfect sense or works perfectly for someone else. The beauty of it all. At the end of the day these are all great problems to have.

Definitely my favorite problem of the year.

Sounds like a good problem to have until you're actually paying ~ 2500/month a back for your education.

It's definitely a lot to pay back, and will be a burden for a few years after school. But for those with spouses and kids, it can be much easier and less of a burden to keep your family happy, by not moving to another state just for cheaper tuition and uprooting their lives and keeping them away from their other family members and support systems. So for me personally, I am happy to pay the tuition for any of the 3 local CRNA schools.

I got an invite for Dec 17th. But just emailed them and retired my application. I live in Orange County, 50 min driving to the campus. 140K is way too much for me. I guess if I graduate from this program; 4 years later, my student loans will be like ... >250k. Anyways, good luck to all people who got invites for the interview.

Did you not know how much tuition was before you applied? Or was Loma Linda like a "just in case option" and you got interviews elsewhere?

to be honest with you,

LLU is my very last choice. I was on their alternate list last year; but I don't personally think LLU is a good fit for me. Good luck to you tho.
