Loma Linda New Grad RN Adult Residency 01/2022

Published

Hello! Just reaching out to see if anyone has heard back from Loma Linda University Medical Center for their new grad residency program starting in January? The website states interviews will be October/November so just wanted to see where everyone stands. My application status has not changed since I submitted my application ☹️

I got my offer last Wednesday for LLU Murrieta, I interviewed the Thursday prior

Hi! I interviewed November 17th and got called the next day telling me I got the job! Good luck everyone!

CONGRATS! Have you or anyone else received their official offer letter from HR? Or just a verbal one?

@mbrnbsn I only have my verbal offer.

@mbrnbsn the unit manager said we should be getting an offer letter from HR early-mid December and the onboarding would be early Jan I think

Yes, I was told the same thing. What a lengthy process. Gives time for your mind to wonder.

Is anyone relocating to that area to work at LLU? I'm from OC and IDK the best area to find apartments. I'm also thinking about commuting but the traffic is going to be so bad for me since I'm doing night shift.

Did everyone accept on the spot? I emailed them letting me know I need until close of business Wednesday to decide. I have another offer and I am so torn. I wonder if they will rescind my offer? Does anyone have information on benefits they can share with me- such as tuition reimbursement etc?

@newnursewhodiis I found a link with benefits they provide/offer - https://lluh.referrals.selectminds.com/default2126/moreinfo/benesnapshot

The unit manager also told me that the pay goes up at least $8 after our first year there.

@SoniaRN94 you are an angel! Wow such amazing benefits! I decided to go to with the other opportunity even though it is nights just because it will be the unit I wanted. It was such a hard decision. Thank you so much for sharing this I truly appreciate it and I know you will love it there!

Hello I know this is late but I'm currently applying for the ED in this coming cohort and I'd love to talk to you about the interview process! I was wondering what type of questions were asked. Was it like "Tell me about a time" or just behavioral questions in general? Were there any clinical ones?

Hi,

I also applied for the January 2022 cohort. My app changed to under review on October 14th and was invited for an interview tomorrow morning with ED.

I was pleased to get the call last week about Interviewing with the ED. It has been my dream to become a Trauma ER Nurse. Especially at a level 1 trauma center and magnet level nursing facility.

Goodluck to us both in the hiring process,

Jess

I'd love to talk to you abotu the interview process! My dream is ED also!

Hi, of course no problem. The interview was with 6 of the leadership personal. It was very structured. The typical why nursing? Who was your most difficult pt? What was your most difficult time in nursing school? What do you bring to the table that the others don’t? And I think the last one was more personalized towards the ED like why the ED etc? I wasn’t put in any scenarios thank goodness. It was very structured like I said, but the staff was very warm and receptive.
Let me know if you have any more questions….I’m happy to answer them as best as I can.

Jess
