I am applying to the University of Memphis Loewenberg School of Nursing for the spring of 2011. Right now I am taking some pre-requisite courses and by the time I send in my application I will have a GPA of 3.1. The required GPA needed to apply is a 2.7 cumalative. Does anyone who is attending or has applied know what GPA a person needs to be competitive or be pretty sure they will be accepted into the program. I'm very nervous about getting in.
This is really hard for me to believe. They definitely make sure that all of the prereqs are taken and that the cumulative grade for the required courses is higher than 2.77.
Are you calling me a liar? I also applied there and I was lacking one pre-req at the time of application and I was accepted also. She had not taken any pre-reqs at the time of application and was accepted. Would you like me to send you my acceptance letter and her email so you can email her and verify??
Obviously it wasn't a good decision on their part to accept her, as she failed out, as I mentioned earlier. I decided to go for an entry-level master's instead of another bachelor's.

1. wow, defensive much? the poster simply said it is hard to believe, which it is. letting someone in on the contingency of finishing one pre-req class before the program starts is one thing, but allowing someone to completely forego ALL the pre-reqs is hard to believe.
How is your experience so far? My friend is going to Southwest and is pretty overloaded. I am sure you won't have time to even get on here. Good luck and keep your chin up if it is anything like what my friend is going through. She bombed her first test and has to write a paper about why she did poorly and her plans to do better on the next exam in Foundations. She did get a 91 on her dosages and calculations today.

well, you really can't. I had a book i got from ATI, there is a section on Science, and that helped me a lot; the book gives you a good review of what to expect. I would recommend it. You can, probably, find a version online.
