Hi, thought I would make a discussion for those of us applying for the fall of 2017 to the traditional program at the University of Memphis. I've seen several for the accelerated, but with the deadline only a week away, I figured it might be nice to meet future classmates.
To anyone who's applied before & didn't get in, did you receive an email or letter?? I received an email this Spring when I didn't get in... I don't recall receiving a letter. Just curious if maybe that's why we haven't heard anything. Oh and my 'status' on the application page never went to 'declined' either
For those of you guys interested UTHSC has some seats available for their ABSN and has extended their deadline to April 15 to apply. But they do require the teas. Just a plan B just in case.
I did see that but I spoke with a current student and they say it's not that good... something about how the professors can be better. But I can be wrong... I don't really know her personally so it could be just her not trying her best.
If you already have a Bachelor's degree in another field, UTHSC will waive the TEAS requirement. I was so happy not to have to take it. So I would definitely encourage you guys to apply at UTHSC if you can. It's unfortunate that LCON is taking so long. I was trying to wait to hear back from them before accepting UTHSC, but I didn't want to get to close to the deadline.
There was a nursing info session on campus that was today where they came out and answered all our questions..and they said they just met today to finalize everything and that we should hear by them either tomorrow or the weekend whether we were accepted or not...it took them longer than usual because 200 more people applied then the normal 500...also they said they admit 160 students and out of that 160 40 are accelerated
