Would anyone be able to explain to me what a Local Travel Nurse is? What is the difference between local and a regular travel nurse?

Is anyone presently a Local Travel nurse in the South Jersey area? What are the payrates, are they better or worse than per diem?

I am interested in switching from per diem to travel. It seems like I am being cancelled alot.

I would appreciate any information any one has regarding this issue.
